Software Reference

Here is the simple text-based version of Euchre I mentioned in my recent blog post.

To run it, you will need to do the following:

1. Download the euchre.jar file from this page
2. Open a command prompt (on Windows, Start -> Run -> cmd.exe)
3. Change to the same directory that you have saved the jar file to, using the cd command
4. Type java -jar euchre.jar

At present it's not very pretty and it doesn't yet implement "going alone". Also, the winner is the first to 9 not 21. However, it is playable and is good fun if you know the rules of Euchre. And it uses the British rules with the Benny, not the American version favo(u)red by most Euchre games you can download.
